Team
Canada scored 2-2 against the team from Kyrgistan.
All four games were draws. Tomorrow is the
9th round.
Alex was somewhat better but couldn't find a knock
out blow. I was
somewhat inferior in the ending...so what is
new? I drew relatively easily! Igor drew after an uneventful
game. And Pascal drew with the black pieces
without any problems.
Our opponent's team actually stacked their boards:
the best and highest
rated players were on boards 3 and 4.
Not much new apart from that. We saw Phil and
Betty June today. The congress begins
tomorrow.
I spoke today with Stuart Ruben: the man who wrote
the FIDE rule book. He
explained to me that if one wants to
go to the washroom when it is your move then one should
ask the arbiter for permission. However, he added
that in the case that occurred in the Olympiad the
arbiter over reacted.
