Roberto Cifuentes sends news of the XXVI "Ciudad de Sevilla" Open tournament that took place 12th-20th January 2001 in Seville, Spain.

The tournament was a nine round Swiss system event with 12 GMs, 6 IMs, 4 FMs and a total of 145 participants. 

Roberto Cifuentes himself took clear first place with 7.5/9 half a point clear of five other players.
